Nicola brings decades of experience working for payors and providers, in both the public and private sectors. Her background provides a 360-degree view of the healthcare industry, including strategic opportunities and operational risks. Immediately before establishing her own healthcare consulting practice, Nicola was the Vice President of Managed Care and Credentialing at the Inova Health System in Northern Virginia. While there, she was responsible for all payer negotiations and support related to services provided by the health system - acute, sub-acute, physician, ambulatory, urgent and emergent, behavioral health, radiology, pharmacy, home care and home infusion. Prior to Inova, Nicola was the Executive Director of Managed Care at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. She also spent many years at Empire BlueCross BlueShield in New York (now Anthem) as a Director in their Managed Care division. She was formerly the Director of Finance at New York City's Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC), the largest public hospital system in the U.S., and worked as Special Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA), the agency responsible for administering the Medicaid program for the city. Nicola is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
